It’s a place where there are more donkeys than people, and a resort that stays true to the nature of the solid foundation of the island. Soundtracked by the lapping waves of the turquoise waters that dreams are made, the serenity of Sailrock Resort reveals hidden peace and revitalization. Tranquility hangs in the salted air and the adventure of something possible lingers in the breeze.
The typical Turks and Caicos vacation begins when you step off the plane in Providenciales, but for a select few, the adventure awaits on another island. It might be hard for some to believe, but a quick 20 minute plane ride can transport you to some untouched regions of the world. It’s a plane ride that takes you over just waist-deep water, boasting many colors from the turquoise color sphere and even a possible sighting of stingrays. It’s just one of the many reasons Sailrock Resort is a must visit is because of the undisturbed and undiscovered land and sea.
The resort is welcoming with Blue Ocean cocktails and staff that escorts us to our room and gives a full tour of the amenities. Our room’s bordered with a wrap-around porch that shows off the Atlantic Ocean. Simple and clean, yet luxurious decor fashion our room – an unspoken relationship between the resort and the island. The real beauty lies within your experience.
We spent most of our days soaking up the sun and relaxing on the beach that felt like a private location – something that my husband and I truly love to do. Sailrock Resort has access to two different beaches – on one the Atlantic Ocean and another from Caicos Bay. This time, we even tried paddle boarding and we found it very enjoyable. Sailrock Resort also offers other complimentary water activities should you need something to do, such as kayaking, Hobie Kat sailing and snorkeling. The crystal clear ocean seduces water lovers to explore what’s just beneath the surface.
Gourmet food is served at Sailrock Resort at two different locations – The Cove and The Great House. The Cove offers appetizing beach fare ranging from Fried Conch Fritters to Fish Sandwiches and Angus Hamburgers, plus several different types of pizza. Breakfast and dinner are served at The Great House. A full breakfast menu is offered alongside a continental buffet. Dinner is beautifully prepared by Executive Chef Jose Francois Alias. The menu offers in season dishes with Caribbean essence and fresh seafood, backdropped by the Atlantic Ocean and Caicos Bay. Some of our favorite items from the menu are the Caesar Salad, Bronzed Jumbo Shrimp, the Grilled Angus Beef Fillet, plus two of the specials that were offered while we were there – a chicken dish and freshly prepared herb risotto with seasonings picked from the herb garden grown on property. Both menus list many Gluten Free dishes.
Another favorite at Sailrock is the local brewed beer, Turk’s Head Lager and Amber. My husband and I even took a side adventure to the brewery where they offer several different types of beer and spirits.
Sailrock Resort offers bicycles to check out that can be ridden around the resort and to the north part of the island. The staff can also arrange for a ride into town, should you want to take a trip and try some of the local fare.
From the breathtaking views of the island and ocean, to the infinity pool overlooking the Bay, plus the accommodating staff, the Sailrock Resort experience allows you to move at your own pace. The luxury of the surroundings let you relax in privacy, giving you the exclusive five-star resort experience.
