Change.
It’s inevitable, just like the changing of the seasons. Change can be hard for some, but easier for others. They say what sets millionaires apart is that they have a routine that they stick to every day. I say, but what if we get tired of doing the same thing day in and day out? What if we like doing something different every day?
I know 2020 has changed things for all of us. It’s hard to say if/when we’ll go back to normal. For some of us, this change might feel like it’s set us back so far in life that we have to start from the beginning again. We feel like we’re constantly chasing that uphill battle. We’re always trying to keep our heads above water so we don’t drown. Is there ever a point in life when we get to the top of the mountain and enjoy the view? Is there ever a point when we get to swim instead of sink?
I came across this quote the other day:
No amount of guilt can change the past, no amount of anxiety can change the future.
Unknown
The second part of this quote gave me a new perspective on the future. If anything this change has taught me to slow down and take it one day at a time. It’s taught me to take a time out and take advantage of this life. Also, let’s remember that all change isn’t bad. Change can be good, too.
As far as changing of the seasons go, well, I’m not ready to let go of summer. I never am. I used to live for summer. Who am I kidding? I still live for summer. I feel like it brings about such a carefree time. (Plus this summer we added a really amazing addition to the backyard.) But like anything in life, you have to learn to adapt and change. There’s no stopping of the season as much as you plead for the warmer weather to stick around a little longer. And there’s no stopping change as much as you look back at the past and wish it were still the present.
