Tennis shoes in summer? I know, you’re probably thinking the same thing I was when I first saw this trend. Why would you want to wear shoes after all winter long of keeping your toes cooped up? I asked myself the same question, and it seems like it totally defeats the purpose of getting a cute pedi to show off. To be honest, the trend has started to grow on me. Sneaks are practical – they’re comfortable for walking around in or if you’re going to be on your feet for a long period of time. Also, if you find a cute pair, they can be a staple for any outfit, and they pair great with the jean jacket comeback. If you’re still not sold on the whole summer sneak trend, give them a try during the day and swap them for a cute pair of sandals or wedges when it’s time clock out.
I jumped on the bandwagon with a less traditional, crisp white sneaker. I went with the Jimmy Choo Miami Champagne Metallic Snake Printed Leather Sneakers. I’ve found that metallic sneaks are a hot item, and I think it’s because they double as a neutral. If metallic isn’t your style, I suggest giving other styles a try, like knit, embroidered or even ballet inspired. Give it a try and I’m sure you’ll be thanking me later!
