When someone mentions the Tomato Art Fest, you might automatically think, “art made with tomatoes,” and that can be left up to many interpretations. I had no idea what to expect at the 14th Annual Tomato Fest in East Nashville so I went there with an open mind and needless to say, it was an eclectic crowd.
When I say crowd, I mean there were people everywhere filling what’s known as “Five Points” and the closed street surrounding the area.
The streets were occupied with music, food, art vendors, pop-up-shops ranging from locally made crafts to dog supplies. I think I actually saw more dogs than kids, but there were plenty of kid-friendly activities. We found henna tattoos for the girls and a harmonica for the little fiery red-head.
Like the website says, this festival’s nothing short of wacky, but there’s something wacky in all of us if we look deep enough.
