I feel like a lot nowadays is acceptable with fashion – including mixing animal prints. I feel like it might’ve been taboo in the past; however, it’s back, I’m here for it and happy to be partnered with Macy’s again to bring you this post I’ve been excited about sharing!
First up – mixing two different types of animal prints. Here I went with a Thalia Sodi Black Zebra Lace Print Top paired with Kendall + Kylie Faux Leather Snakeskin Pants. I’ve been wanting to try faux leather snakeskin pants, and tried on a bunch of different brands and types that I didn’t love. These, though, are by far are my favorite and are a reasonable price!
Mixing Animal Prints Tip: I felt that mixing the types of print with a neutral color top allows you to dip your toe in the water when it comes to combining prints.
Next I paired two different prints that are still in the same color story. This Maison Jules Leopard Print Sweater (I absolutely love) paired so well with my snakeskin sneakers. I went with faux leather leggings here, but have also worn this sweater with jeans. It looks great both ways!
Tip: I feel that when it comes to mixing two different types of prints, it’s easy to try and coordinate an outfit if they’re in the same color story.
Lastly, I’m mixing two snakeskin prints that pair well together because of the black color in both patterns. Let me tell you about this dress – if you want a showstopper, this is the dress for you. Influencer Becca Tilley did a collaboration with Macy’s and this Bar III Becca Tilley x Snake-Print Twist Front Dress is fire! I got the Snake Rowan Booties by Carlos Santana last winter, and these have been the most versatile and comfortable pair of shoes that I own.
Mixing Animal Prints Tip: I’ve also found that if you’re working with two of the same prints, go with a larger print. Then pair it with a smaller print works well.
