It was a weekend of firsts – first visit to the hidden hot dog stand in East Nashville, I Dream of Weenie, and first Nashville Sounds baseball game.
If we’re being honest here, I found I Dream of Weenie on Instagram and immediately thought of my husband because he loves cheese coneys. Lately, we’ve been into trying different restaurants in Nashville and so I thought this would be a great place to check off our list. The full-service weenery that serves up eclectic combinations of hot dogs and toppings is run out of a converted VW bus. They offer a standard menu, plus “Daily Dreams” that is constantly changing. All dogs are served on a fresh-baked locally made artisan bun and are available on your choice of a premium all-beef, turkey, or tofu weenie. A major plus – our meal delicious yet affordable (and I’m not a regular hot dog eater)!
Like I mentioned earlier, we’ve been into trying new things and since we’re pretty much season ticket holders to the Nashville Predators, we thought it’s time to check out what other sporting events the city has to offer and spread some of that love around. Even though the Nashville Sounds lost, First Tennessee Park’s a pretty sweet place. The stadium offers a wide variety of concessions and things to do for adults and kids, like pool, corn hole, mini-golf and bouncy houses. We sat front row at first base for a fairly affordable price.
